1965 Volkswagen Type 3 Notchback – Beautiful Build!

A true hot rod of a Volkswagen, this 1965 Notchback has undergone a lot of work to become the car it is today. Beginning with a full restoration of the car, the vehicle is believed to be rust free and has been redone inside and out. The majority of time spent for the restoration was collecting all German correct parts for the build. The engine is a correct 1500cc 4 cylinder, and had a complete top end rebuild by Franklin’s VW, as well as generator converted to alternator for the additional electrical needs. The transmission is believed to be the original 4 Speed Manual that came with the car, and was inspected and serviced along with the entire vehicle, by RMF Air Cooled in 2021. This included approximately $2,500 in repairs and work done to make sure the car was ready to drive. Outside, the car is finished in a Porsche Metallic Silver paint color that has a satin finish. Polished Porsche Fuchs wheels, polished chrome, extra lights up front, and the luggage rack on the outside tie the car together nicely. The car was also recently changed from show to drive height to make the ride easier and more comfortable. Other upgrades outside include disc brakes at all four corners, tires with less than 1000 miles on them, European Flat Tail Lights, and one piece front windows. Inside, the car has a beautiful Brick Red interior, with newer upholstery throughout. Most noticeable inside is the wood Nardi steering wheel, copper plated Hurst shifter, and Alpine Stereo System with Infinity speakers in their custom mounts. Under the rear seat also sits a subwoofer for a great sound coming from the stereo. Cruising down the road with the windows down and music blasted in this car would be a great drive. Don’t miss out on this one of a kind Notchback.
