A true two family owned, California car, this 1968 Mustang Sprint A has only exchanged hands of ownership twice after the original purchase in 1968. The most recent owner, who purchased the car in 2016 from the grandson of the original owner, began a very thorough restoration of the entire car using only NOS and factory authorized parts to get as close to original as possible with only a few upgrades. The correct numbers matching, 289 V8 engine was restored with a minor bore to allow for hardened piston sleeves to be placed. To upgrade the car over original slightly, the brakes were converted to discs, and fog lights and a factory correct dual exhaust system were added on to match that of a Sprint B model. Repainted in its original MeadowLark Yellow paint by Mustang Magic in Fremont, California, the C-stripes were also added back on, as well as original style wheels and tires to complete the factory look. Inside, the black vinyl interior features lots of new parts, but still retains the original look. The radio was upgraded to a digital FM/AM dial, but with retro style as well. With the restoration finished a few days before the 50th anniversary of the car’s build date, the previous owner drove the car to the old factory location and had photos of the car done as a “birthday present” to the car. Included with the car is a folder of many different receipts from the restoration as well as the original 1968 owners manual. Don’t miss your chance at this beautiful and well restored American classic!
