Lupo Motors is proud to offer, one of, if not the best 1969 Boss 429 Mustang Restoration in the world. Bearing Kar Kraft number 1346, this car was built on February 20, 1969 and sold new by McCoy Ford in Anaheim, California. Still retaining the original 820-S Code NASCAR engine, transmission, differential, and California emissions equipment, this Boss underwent the most thorough restoration, by Bob Perkins of Perkins Restoration, to keep it as close to factory specifications as possible. Judged at the MCACN Concours on November 17, 2017, the car received the Pinnacle Gold Award and was labeled Pinnacle Division II Certified, scoring 703 out of 700 possible points. The following day the car was judged on day one of the Concours judging, where it scored 998 out of 1,000 possible points, with only a 2 point deduction for not enough orange peel in the texture of the paint on the roof.
Following the judging and shows in 2017, the car was sent to RJ Restorations, at the recommendation of Bob Perkins, where the engine was removed and rebuilt by Thunder Valley Classics. This was a very documented process just like the rest of the car, and all invoices are included. Currently showing 15,826 miles on the odometer, these are believed to be the total original miles on the car throughout its life. Since the engine restoration work in 2018, the car reportedly has been driven less than 100 miles.
Wearing the original sheet metal and factory color, Black Jade, the exterior of this car shows very nicely. Underneath the hood looks just about as spotless as the day it rolled off the assembly line, and all markings are in the correct positions to appear so. Inside, the interior appears just as immaculate as the exterior, with a second set of seat belts to be used, with the others kept neat and clean for show. In the rear, the seatbelts are still wrapped in plastic, the optional spoiler is in the wrapper, and the show sign are all included with the car. Also included are the original factory build sheet, owner card, green inspection sheet, original invoices, and all documentation from concours, shows, and many receipts/invoices from the restoration work.
